If you guys go back out again, there is always the fort Island boat ramp. It cost $10 to put in there for the day but a lot easier to get to the scallop grounds with it as well. It’s not as crowded. I also put in at the John Brown boat ramp

Thanks buddy! This is very helpful. I just joined the ownership of a L1 Gixxer 600, without a user manual. It's interesting that I also own a Subaru WRX STI from the same era. A lot of the design are quite similar, like how the tachometer is laid out that is slightly tilted and the power band is right in the center top, and how to set the shifting indicator light. Both vehicles also have the front indicators mounted on the mirrors.

Fascinating to watch. Animals really do pick some incredibly inefficient food sources though…

I believe they shut down scalloping harvesting because of a shellfish bacteria? Is that true? If so, too bad for the many who planned this and went all of the way there. I went scalloping a few years ago with three others... we got 4, yes four! I never went back...

I am about to drain and flush my GSXR as I am now switching to the non water based coolant. No pressure no corrosion and better cooling. I am using the Evans antifreeze and Evans flush once water is drained completly. Luckily I have a compressor which will help push all the H2o out completly. Still a good video for normal antifreeze change.

I had one but my complaints were of the poor materials Suzuki used and not of how the bike performed. I noticed the paint chips very easily on it and everything corrodes on it really quickly.... So do not buy one in a cold wet climate as they do not last. Especially the valve in the pipe which seized and Suzuki wanted almost 2000 to replace, which is why I got rid as it wasn't worth it.

I have dealt with those portable A/C units and they are very inefficient in hot and humid climates. The reason is they cannibalize the already cooled air to cool the compressor and then exhaust the heated air through a large corrugated hose which acts as a heat radiator. The volume of air exhausted outside the trailer is significant and will create a negative pressure vacuum inside sucking in through every nook and cranny more hot and humid air into the trailer. Without adequate insulation there is no way that trailer will be made comfortable while the sun is out. If your plan is to use it only at night to sleep it may be just barely enough. A better choice would have been a 5-6K BTU window air conditioner, as they keep separated the compressor cooling system to the outside and recirculating cooled air to the inside. Those use less power and can be ran with a small generator, they will cool faster and to a lower temperature during the day and might freeze you at night. I love scalloping it’s one of my favorite things to do other then offshore saltwater fishing and bass fishing. I’m going scalloping in a few days.

i,ve been scolloping for over 20 years in north florida,i always hold the dark side up cut the muscle with a fine serrated butter knife and scrape the guts off around muscle and then cut it off the white side of shell,used the shop vac also but really need 2 people for that to be any faster

If you use his method, don’t forget to clean out your shop vac afterwards folks !

I needed this video. I’m right now torn between getting an LT25 or a Mitzi skiff 17 and one of the main concerns I’ve had has been getting in and out of the boat for scallop and lobster seasons. Is it hard to get in the boat from deeper water?
